I wanted to bring this to the forum, because the guestbook should just be about giving shout out to the creators of Belizeanartist.com Regarding Joya comments on Karribius: I don't think your assessments are fair. You're comparing mainstream dance hall reggae artists to new belizean artists. Those guys have the money and the resources to make their music comes out great, they clean out all the rubbish. what are guys like Karribius working with? I'm pretty sure its not as expensive as those mainstream artists I love Karribius sound, even the girl voice on gyalnbwoy. the song after all is called gyalnbwoy not woman and man, so her school girl sound is ideal. I love the way she sings and I love what they are doing as far as mentioning belize in thier music. Given time with the right equipment and marketing, they will do just as well as the mainstream artist you mentioned. Also, I would love to find out the name of the complilation album you bought. You may be right on the quality of the music, but i would like to judge for myself. We all don't have the same taste anyway, that's whats so great about the world. Thumbs up always to Karribius. They will make it.

Karribius and the other belizean artist has talent and will make it. they only need to work on their vocal skills and the way they sound when performing. rapping does require some skills like singing. i am not sure of the technicial term for what i am looking for when trying to describe how they are rapping on the songs. they got the lyrics/context part mastered, now all they have to work on is the vocal delivery. it may have to do with not having adequate equipment or real studios. i wasn't putting them down, just giving some feedback. i don't expect for them to have the same quality as their mainstream counterparts, but I was just giving examples and commenting on their delivery (the way they sing the song). believe that i understand that these artists don't have real production staff and engineers to help them. they have to learn as they go or get help from other people who are bold enough to constructively criticize them. i want to see them exceed.

I agree with Dre. "Given time with the right equipment and marketing, they will do just as well as the mainstream artist you mentioned."
That's all I can really say. Oh and Dre, sometimes knowledge will bring you sorrow when you think too hard.

Good feedback Joya. I fully understand where you're coming from. You still didn't give me the name of that compilation album. And Melody, what you're talking about when someone thinks too hard and it gives you sorrow is not knowledge. That's stress. Remember Jack Nicholson in A few Good Men, when he told Tom Cruise that he couldn't handle the truth. I believe that's true. Truths about yourself you can handle, because you already know they are there. When you hear something about someone you really look up to, at first you go, naw that ain't true, that person ain't like that. But when you find out its true, WOW, talk about the disappointment. Some truths you just don't want to know. Because there are truths we just can't handle. Talking about a recent personal experience.

we are suppossed to be talking about Karribius, but is it okay for us to get side-tracked and talk about Knowledge, Sorrow, Trust, Stress, and Honesty. Stress is when something stays on your mind too long. "Thinking Too Hard" is when you use Knowledge more than you use Trust. There needs to be a balance. Or else, you think yourself into a state of confusion and bring sorrow into your life. Talking about a recent personal experience, too. "Some truths you just don't want to know. Because there are truths we just can't handle." Were you cheated or deceived by someone?

Dang, Melody. What you wrote actually made sense to me. No I wasn't cheated or decieved by no one. Let me give an example. You know someone that everytime you see him, he's being lovely to his wife. Considerate and respectful. And you've always looked at him as an ideal person. And say he's been married to the same woman for 25 years. Then later you find out that he's been physically abusive to his wife through out their marriage. It was something like that. Only what I'm talking about is opposite. That's all. By the way, are you still beautiful? Maybe we should change the thread.

Thank you, I am still pretty.
Are you still handsome and sexy?
Wow, that man must have played a good role, because most abusive men treat their women like crap, not wanting to take them anywhere and always being possessive and over-demanding, then they never come home or leave home for days at a time. Then after years of this treatment the woman cheats or fights back.
