It’s a task that is easier said than done especially if you had a long history with the person, spent a lot of time with him/her and if he or she was a part of your daily activities.
But, you have to start somewhere. You need to do spend more time socializing with friends in groups, go bowling, dancing, just doing fun things you love to do. The more company you have around at this time, the better. Being alone will cause you to think about this person even more.
You need to come to terms with the fact that it is over and you HAVE GOT TO MOVE ON. Holding on to memories will only hurt you more. The healing process will be a very long one but every journey begins with a single step.
Start enjoying life for yourself, love yourself more and always remember that you can never change the past but you can use events of the past and learn from them to make your future brighter and happier.
The main focus here, Spend time with your friends and share your feelings with someone you trust. When you talk about your problems it makes the process a whole lot easier.

Just forget about the bum. Find a friend that he don't know and hang out with him. Make him think that you are over him and you no longer think of him. It will make you feel better and you will see him squirm.
That's how i forget about someone.
If you had serious true feelings for him though, in all honesty, you never get over him.
That's what I think.

I think that if you had serious true feelings about someone you can eventually get over them. It may take time but eventually you get over the worthless dog! ;D

I don't think you can ever get over true love. From experience, love that slowly builds up lasts longer and remains stronger than love that comes overnight.

I agree with Melody, I dont think you get over true love... but you learn to live without that person... because life isnt over !...
